Well we all are using Bluetooth or WiFi for our daily work to communicate others or some times to send some data. But we hardly ever thought what is the difference between these two? Which one is faster than the other? OK so let’s discuss about it.
Well Bluetooth or WiFi both are wirelessly communicative process. Almost every phone has Bluetooth connection support but not Wi-Fi support. So we need special type of technology in our phone to support WiFi ( like android phones).
Here some basic difference between Bluetooth and WiFi
|i) Range: 5ft-100ft.||i) Range: indoor-100ft and Outdoor-300ft|
|ii) Frequency: 2.4 GHz.||ii) Frequency: 2.4 GHz,3.6 GHz,5 GHz|
|iii) Bandwidth: 800 kbps.||iii) Bandwidth: 11 Mbps|
|iv) Latency: 200ms.||iv) Latency: 150ms|
|v) Bit rate: 2.1 Mbps.||v) Bit rate: 600 Mbps|
A Bluetooth device uses radio waves instead of wires or cable to connect to a phone or computer where WiFi is a electro magnetic radiative wave.
As the frequency of WiFi is higher than Bluetooth so WiFi is more effective and useful than Bluetooth for data processing. Now a days in our smart phones we use xender,share it instead of Bluetooth. These files are WiFi direct concept or WiFi hotspot to transfer files. Its actually creates a server of files I.e WiFi hotspot or direct. And since there is no data connection required it uses the max speed of our WiFi.
